Privacy Policy

Overview
Sustainable Table is committed to ensuring that any personal information you provide is kept private and secure. You can visit and use Sustainable Table without giving us any personal data -- we cannot track your email address or other personal information. On occasion, we do run reports to track the amount of traffic to our website, but this information is statistical only and cannot be traced back to any one individual. This information is collected in order for us to know how many visitors are coming to the site, which pages are the most popular, what search words are being used to find the site, etc. We collect this information in an attempt to bring you the most comprehensive and effective website possible.

Personal information can only be obtained by a user voluntarily entering it (e.g., name, email address) when you register with the website or sign up to receive email updates. We will not trade or disclose any information you send to any third parties, nor will we ever sell or give email lists to any other organization or group. If you should sign up for any services offered, you will always be offered an opportunity to unsubscribe at any time.

Information Collection & Use
Sustainable Table is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. You may enter your personal information (e.g., name, email address, and other information) voluntarily at several different points on our website.

Newsletters / Press Releases
If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s) or to receive our press releases via email, we will use the name and email address you provide to us to send the newsletter/press release to you. At certain times, we may also ask you to volunteer demographic information to better tailor our communications to you, though all requests will be optional.

If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter(s) or press releases, you may unsubscribe by following the instructions included in each newsletter or communication or by emailing us at info@sustainabletable.org.

Tell-A-Friend
If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about Sustainable Table, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address, or you may use the third-party vendor service we provide in order to access your email address book. We will automatically send your friend(s) a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. Sustainable Table does not store this information and has no ability to use it for any further communications.

Log Files
As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.  We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We do not link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information. We use a third-party tracking that uses log files to track non-personally identifiable information about visitors to our site in the aggregate

Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. We use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our site. A session ID cookie expires when you close you browser. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” file. We set a persistent cookie to store your passwords, so you don’t have to enter it more than once. Persistent cookies also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site.

If you reject cookies, you may still use our site, but your ability to use some areas of our site, such as contests or surveys, will be limited.

Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
We use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our campaigns. If you would like to opt-out of these emails, please follow instructions for unsubscribing.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, with links from the homepage, or other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
